PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

The Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce serves the business community by being its voice at  all levels of  government through the Ontario and Canadian Chambers of Commerce.  Centre Wellington has a strong, vibrant and diverse economy and a quality of life that is second to none.  This success is the result of years of hard work and cooperation between municipal and business leaders.  The Chamber is proud to be a part of this tradition and process.

While the Chamber represents business, we are also very active in civic organizations that encourage the economic and social development of the community.  Building partnerships is the key to this growth, and the Chamber has been successful in developing these relationships, with, as examples:  hospitals, Business Improvement Areas, service clubs and organizations.

As our Mission states, we are ‘Champions for Business’. The Chamber represents a broad range of area interests - from sole proprietors and home-based enterprises to large corporations with global markets.  The Chamber membership must be strengthened so that its impact can be felt throughout the area.

Membership in the Chamber offers programs and activities, including educational, social and business networking opportunities, business forums and focus groups for owners, employees, senior managers and junior executives in all business sectors.  To encourage new members, the membership benefits package is under constant review to add new and innovative offerings.

As the prominent business organization, the Chamber provides credible business perspectives to the federal and provincial governments on labor, education and social reform; debt and deficit reduction, government services, subsidies and health care.  It also provides input on local issues to the municipal government in providing public services with private sector philosophies and viewpoints, and promotes revitalization and economic development. 

The Chamber is committed to moving business forward in the community of Centre Wellington, by building partnerships and including all stakeholders to ensure we remain the best place to live, work and invest.
